Shark FlexBreeze Review (UK): Cool Anywhere, Indoors or Out

★★★★☆Our rating: 4/5•By Smart Gear Vault•Updated 5 October 2026

Update, 5 October 2026: this page previously covered the Shark FlexBreeze Pro Mist (FA300UK), which comes with a portable misting tank. It was no longer available new from Amazon UK when we checked, so we now cover the standard Shark FlexBreeze (FA220UK). It's the same cordless pedestal and table fan, but its misting attachment connects to a garden hose instead of a tank.

Quick verdict

The Shark FlexBreeze is a great choice if you want one fan for the house and the garden. It runs cordless for up to 24 hours on its lowest speed, switches between pedestal and table modes in seconds, and comes with an InstaCool misting attachment for outdoor use. It costs more than a mains fan, and the mister needs a garden hose, but it's one of the most versatile fans you can buy.

Most fans stay plugged in next to the sofa. Shark's FlexBreeze is designed to go wherever you are, from the bedroom to the patio. Shark calls it a "12-in-1" fan: you can use it corded or cordless, as a pedestal or table fan, indoors or outdoors, and with or without the mister (outdoors only).

Who is it for?

It suits households that spend summer evenings in the garden, people with a patio and an outdoor tap, and anyone who wants one fan they can carry from room to room without hunting for a socket. If you only need a quiet bedroom fan, a mains air circulator will be cheaper and lighter.

Cordless freedom

The rechargeable battery is the main reason to choose this fan. Shark quotes up to 24 hours at speed 1, which is enough for a couple of evenings in the garden, dropping to around two hours at full power. Oscillation roughly halves those figures. Because it runs on a battery, you can also use it during power cuts or in rooms where the sockets are in awkward places. Lift the fan head off the pole and it becomes a table fan.

Misting

Clip the InstaCool attachment onto the front grille, connect it to your garden hose and the fan sprays a fine mist into the airflow. Shark says this can make it feel up to 5°C cooler, measured at 30°C and 2.7m from the fan, so real results will vary. Unlike the FlexBreeze Pro Mist's portable tank, you'll need to be within reach of a hose, which makes it better suited to a patio than a picnic. The misting is designed for outdoor use only.

What reviewers say

The FA220UK is rated 4.6 out of 5 from more than 700 ratings on Amazon UK. Owners and independent reviewers praise its strong, quiet airflow, long battery life and portability. Some find the top speed noisy, and some would prefer a tank to the hose connection for misting. Shark's two-year guarantee should cover genuine faults, but it's worth registering the fan when you buy it.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Cordless, up to 24 hours on low
  • Switches between pedestal and table modes
  • Misting attachment included in the box
  • Breeze reaches up to 20m
  • 2-year guarantee including the battery

Cons

  • Misting needs a garden hose and is outdoor-only
  • Only 2 hours at full speed
  • Pricier than mains fans
  • Some reports of a noisy top speed

UK price

When we checked on 5 October 2026, the Shark FlexBreeze (FA220UK) was £209.99 on Amazon UK, in stock and sold by Amazon. That's more than a typical mains fan because of the battery and outdoor features. Prices change throughout the year, so check the current price on Amazon UK before you buy.

Verdict

The Shark FlexBreeze does something most fans can't: it works just as well on the patio as it does in the bedroom, without a cable. Long cordless runtime, quick conversion and the included mister make it a versatile summer gadget. It's pricey, and misting means running a hose, so it earns four stars rather than five.

FAQs

Can you use the Shark FlexBreeze indoors?

Yes, as a fan, corded or cordless. Shark says the InstaCool misting attachment is for outdoor use only, and it needs a garden hose.

How long does the Shark FlexBreeze battery last?

Shark quotes about 24 hours on speed 1, 14 hours on speed 2, 6 hours 20 minutes on speed 3 and 2 hours on speed 5, without oscillation. Oscillation shortens runtime. A full charge takes about 5 hours, and the fan can run while it charges.

What happened to the Shark FlexBreeze Pro Mist?

When we checked on 5 October 2026, the UK FlexBreeze Pro Mist (FA300UK) was not available new from Amazon UK. The standard FlexBreeze (FA220UK) is the same cordless pedestal and table fan, but it mists through a hose-fed attachment rather than a portable water tank.
